This rare Gift Set containing five of the popular racing car series is in outstanding condition. Made in 1955, this set was first numbered 4, it was then later superseded by being renumbered 249. As this is the first issue of this Gift Set it contains all the correctly numbered racing cars. Number 23g Cooper Bristol, number 23f Alfa Romeo, number 23h Ferrari, number 23j H.W.M and 23n Maserati. Once the set was renumbered to 249 it then contained the racing cars with the later numbering. The box for this Gift Set is one of the finest we have ever seen, being strong, bright and complete with the inner plinth and the all important top packing piece. Dated on the base 9/55 [September 1955]. Impossible to find so good.
